Downes Equestrian Services

John and his wife Cheryl have trained, re-educated and coached selected horses and riders at their equestrian facilities located at 33 Cassowary Court Caboolture (approximately 50 minutes north from Brisbane) for the last 14 years. John currently teaches many beginner to advanced riders of all ages on green and/or seasoned horses throughout South East Queensland; conducts schools throughout Australia; and has also worked overseas in equestrian disciplines. John and Cheryl recently returned from conducting schools in California (July to August 2006), coaching students riding a variety of breeds ie Fresians, Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods, Mustangs and Arabs.

John and Cheryl specialise in providing a safe, welcoming, humourous, honest, educational and extremely supportive environment whilst providing a positive hands-on approach to the art of acquiring knowledge and skills in all aspects of horse handling and horse riding for students of all ages and all levels. From the moment of horse and student’s arrival at their Caboolture location, John and Cheryl conduct a stringent Assessment on Arrival form and Induction Process which must be completed by riders to ensure horse and rider’s safety and Risk Management Policies and Plans are adhered to. A Downes Equestrian Services’ Certificate is presented to the student or students on completion of the Induction Process with Induction Processes being checked on a weekly basis.
